LOOK WE LOVE: BLACK BEAUTY

We're anything but moody, but we confess we love the dark, goth look of solid-black dressing. Fall lines embraced the all-black look emphasizing with modern-gothic, sleek touches like the use of velvet, leather, cross embellishes, and sleek tailoring. One key to breaking up your black is to utilize your own physical elements to set apart your black pieces. Case in point: Mary-Kate Olsen. Her wavy hair pops against the black high-neck top and she showed a bit of skin in a modest skirt by The Row and open-toe Giuseppe Zanotti booties (which you can snag in the thumbnails below).

Amongst other collections, we loved Jeremy Scott's quirky, playful take on what can sometimes come off as a somber look. Thigh-high boots played up the velvet mini dresses for a look that definitely killed. If thigh-high boots aren't your pace, we recommend investing in a great, basic pair of suede open-toe booties. Steve Madden's Lovelly booties look awesome with everything and are price-right. Because they showcase your polished toes it's another chance to inject color into your saturated look.
