WHAT TO WEAR: JOB INTERVIEW

It finally happened. You landed the interview for your dream job—like any style maven your mind flickers to one of the most crucial things of the impending meeting—what to wear! After all, you have a few minutes to make an impression—hopefully being that you are polished, professional, comfortable, and being stylish never hurt anyone. Furthermore, you want to stand out against the myriad of black suits that are sure to be coming through the door.

With these points in mind, we sought out items that are modern yet conscientious and sure to leave you feeling well equipped to show your future employers your best self.

1. LOVER COLORED SHORTS + FALKE TIGHTS
Blake Lively demonstrates the put-together effect of a colored or patterned mini-skirt or pair of tailored shorts. Trousers are always a great choice, but going for a pairing like this will separate you from the crowd. Go for a semi-opaque or opaque tights as you don't want to push the boundaries and accidently end up looking like, well, a lady of the night.

2. ELIZABETH AND JAMES LONG BLAZER
While a black blazer is a must-have staple, we think a gray blazer is a refreshing choice for an interview. It's conservative and tones down the color of shorts or a skirt and tights. The longer length juxtaposed with shorter skirt/shorts length achieves the ideal balance.

3. CC SKYE ONIE SHARP SATCHEL
To say we are obsessed with this bag would be a severe understatement. It would be the perfect bag to carry to an interview—it looks grown-up, structured, and brief-case like but with contemporary edge. You'll take it to your new job every day!

4. BANANA REPUBLIC LINK STATEMENT RING
While the idea with pulling together an outfit for an interview is to keep it tame while also being in vogue, add some personality and glam via one statement piece like a gold cocktail ring. This one indicates the wearer to be luxe and on-trend—the perfect finishing touch!

5. ROSEGOLD GENIE NEUTRAL BOOTIES
When assembling our interview look, we took a cue from Lively and picked a pair of neutral booties. Not only will you get great wear out of these, but they echo the neutral hue of your blazer and pop against black tights. We're in love with this suede lace-up pair!
