STYLE STUDY: ELLE MACPHERSON
Only a supermodel could strut a pair of harem leather pants on the street in an impossibly chic way. Elle Macpherson: way to set an incredibly high bar for the rest of us mortals. Macpherson's style as of late had been an ode to black and leather. Achromatic head-to-toe pieces in varied textures (lots of fur touches) contrast with her iconic cascading light locks.
Whatever it is that's got her in this "dark" phase, we're loving it. We revere her daring, tough style choices. Also to be noted: Macpherson keeps accessories to a minimum, choosing singular pieces that speak loudly on their own (Embellished booties! Huge leather tote! Single leather-band wrist watch!). Even though she always looks major, Macpherson seems to be guided by simplicity—her pieces appear selected for their obvious quality and versatility. While it keeps our 6-foot-tall muse in a roulette-game of varied black separates, the predictable palette doesn't keep us from being inspired with each choice she steps out in. Long strut Macpherson!
