BEST DRESSED: MET GALA 2011
Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala never fails to produce a parade of unthinkable couture creations, picture perfect makeup, and flawless style from the droves of celebrities and fashion insiders who attend. This year it failed to disappoint as our familiar favorites (Olsens! SJP! Gisele!) and newer muses (Dianna Agron, Emma Stone) as well as an epic flock of Alexander McQueen gowns (the evening was in honor of the late designer) flexed their full fashion potential.
A few quick notes on who (& why) made our list of Best Dressed for the evening:
ZOE SALDANA in Calvin Klein
The yellow gown so beautifully compliments her gorgeous skin tone. Saldana is one of the masters of minimalismshe achieves the ultimate effect with clean lines and complimenting accessories. Another bulls-eye effort!
DIANNA AGRON in Michael Kors
Agron took an unexpected departure from her normally favored vintage looks for a sleek, modern choice from Michael Kors she pulled off with tantamount ease. The color and cut suit her and we love the touch of the gilded gold cuff! We smell a new designer muse...
DIANE KRUGER in Jason Wu
Diane you do no wrong! A sexy slit effectively offsets the elegant, conservative cut of the bodice. Red lips + red nails = perfection!

MARY-KATE OLSEN in Givenchy Vintage Couture
The show of bold color from the normally achromatic MK really made her look alive and radiant. Pretty, polished & avant-garde: the kind of Olsen appearance we wait with baited breath for!

Love the daring Jil Sander look Stone displayed: beautifully gathered silk gown with bright pink lipstick. Her earrings and demure hairstyle made the look on point and perfectly appropriate.
