LOOK WE LOVE: TECHNO-FLORAL
We blame the winter woes but we were in dire need of a shot of life. It comes in the form of one of Spring 2012's big trends we're calling 'sonic bloom': techno-florals blossomed in print at spring shows including Peter Som, Christopher Kane, Marni and Mary Kantrantzou.
At the latter, if the designer's petal-pushing agenda wasn't apparent enough through the fluorescent-floral photo prints, the runway-length centerpiece of live flowers made it clear that this season, there's a new way to define "garden party". From the rainbow roses at Peter Som, to the multi-colored floral print on isolated neutrals at Christopher Kane, it's safe to say we're ready to wake up and smell the roses. Incorporate some bright florals into your wardrobe now before spring has sprunglayer under mesh sweaters or double-breasted wool blazers or try some floral-printed pants with your knitwear.
