BEST DRESSED: GOLDEN GLOBES 2012 PARTIES
Ah, awards season. Along with the glamour and suspense, you bring out all our favorite stars and you bring them clad in all our favorite designers. It's no wonder red-carpet watching has become a sort of intense sport, with photos analyzed and qualified for best dressed lists. Style File is no exception, but this year we decided to look not to the strategic, mannequin-like poses captured on the crimson carpet, but to a littler later in the evening; after the hoopla that is the show has ended, the pressure subdued, to where the stars have metaphorically let down their hair and look a bit more relaxed. We're talking about the Golden Globes after parties, and we loved perusing the shots of the beautiful gowns in a more natural, exuberant setting.
Making our best dressed list was Best Actress nominee, Charlize Theron in Dior. Her plunging blush gown and sparkling headpiece was undoubtedly one of our favorite looks of the night, and she was the portrait of modern glamour at the In Style party. Emma Stone continues to wow us in Lanvin, and Kate Beckinsale reached ethereal proportions in Roberto Cavalli. Also making the cut was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley with Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles looking simple but sleek; Nicole Richie in a shimmering silver Julie Macdonald gown; Jessica Alba in an impossible to ignore dress from Gucci; Malin Akerman in a modern-flapper interpretation by Etro; and the stunning Georgina Chapman in her equally stunning creation from her line, Marchesa. These women lit up the night and got us warmed up and ready for the Oscars! Stay tuned!
