EXPERIMENT WITH: SHEER SHIRTS

Any wariness concerning today's trend is understandable—a sheer shirt that puts it all on display can be a disaster (read: trashy) if not executed carefully. But it can be done. In super lightweight chiffon and silk these shirts act like a delicate veil with a little edge. While there are sheer blouses in every color, we're keen on keeping it black, white and neutral—it feels more luxe. Look for shirts with some paneling built in, be it striped solid panels, a built in shelf bra, or double breasted pockets. If the shirt has no paneling and is very sheer, create your own paneling with your undergarments. Go for a bra with more coverage than your go-to—try a bralette that extends just under your ribs, or a camisole or bustier. Keep your bottoms a little higher on the waist so less of your torso is showcased. Also add outerwear like sharp blazers and cool leather jackets. The result is just the right amount of peekaboo-play—sometimes less is more right?
