CLOSET RAID: CLOSETRICH.COM
It's not your typical Closet Raid today, as Style File raids the closet of, well, a closet. Not just any closetthat of Closet Rich (
closetrich.com), a digital consignment paradise of carefully curated items queued up and ready for new wearers. At the helm of the operation is Founder Elizabeth Kott, whose taste dictates the treasures that line the racks at the Closet Rich headquarters. Kott visits the closets of her clientele hand-picking the lovingly worn standout pieces that still possess that sparkle deserving of new life. She splits the profit of the sale 50/50 with her clients, making it a much more attractive option for sellers than schlepping items to places like Buffalo Exchange.
Beyond the thrill of the sale (or the purchase) is the certain digital-savvy Closet Rich embodies that we are drawn to. Perusing vintage finds on sites like eBay can prove a daunting task, while Closet Rich is an already edited down selection of fantastic items, modeled by a fashion-blog favorite, Kristin Reiter of
BleachBlack.coma definite cherry on top to skimming the inventory.
When we entered the Closet Rich headquarters, a light, white room interrupted by racks of colorful pieces of varying textures and prints waiting for new homes, the oohing-and-aahing started almost immediately. From a metallic jumpsuit (don't let the description deter you, it's gasp-inducing major) to a pair of staple black suede Prada booties, to a white tuxedo blazer from The Row we were needless to say acting like a kid in a candy store. A giddy salivating kid, for sure. Survey our adventures with Closet Rich, with a look at some of the riches we spotted, as well as some Q&A with Kott and blogger Reiter.ALLIE WOOD
